WHO WE ARE

“We chose FC for a number of reasons.  Initially, we heard really good things about it from a couple of families that our son played sports with.  Speaking with the Directors and coming to the first practice helped quite a bit as well.  They were clear, transparent, and genuine in our conversations.  We were looking for a club that would offer strong coaching, a competitive atmosphere that focused on development and not just winning (although we love to win), and a club that supported multi-sport athletes as all of our kids play a number of sports.  We have been more than happy with FC in all of those respects.  We also really just like every person we have met through FC from coaches to players to parents, every single person has been fantastic.”

“Our son did a developmental program through another very large club in the area and although he enjoyed it, he didn’t LOVE it.  He didn’t feel like the coaches were totally committed to the team and neither did we.  We felt like it was a machine, looking to pump out players to fill higher levels of the program, but not to be an actual club.  For us, part of the value of youth sports engagement is belonging and commitment.  That goes both ways.  From the coaches to the player and from the players/families to the coaches.  FC is special in that way.  Additionally, a number of other competitive programs require players to prioritize soccer above all and as a multi-sport family that wasn’t for us.”

“The directors and coaches are the most down-to-earth people I have seen yet in youth sports.  There is no ego here, just good coaching.  There is care and consideration for the development of the athletes, a love for the sport, and a commitment to high standards for practice, competition, and behavior.  The families that choose this club also seem to be driven by a shared desire to raise well-rounded kids with high integrity and a commitment to give 100%."

“One callout I would make is that our children play club level for a number of other sports as well (volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball) and FC is outstanding in its commitment to developing strong, skilled, and principled athletes in comparison to all of the other clubs we play for as well.  We love all of our clubs and coaches, but Fountain City FC really is special."

“All three of our younger children proudly wear FC jerseys.  They are each totally different athletes with very different goals and challenges.  FC has been able to meet each one of them where they are, support and challenge them to get better as athletes and as teammates, and to foster their love of soccer.  Interestingly enough, the older two would have put soccer as their third or fourth favorite sport when we joined the club and now for all three kids it is their favorite by far.  That is the “FC Effect” I think.  They have built our player’s confidence so that they feel empowered through both skill and the intangibles to truly love the game of soccer.  And luckily we love watching them because as you can imagine, we are at a lot of FC games every weekend!”
