Advancement Director



Sammy Boateng is the Advancement Director for Fountain City FC.  He is also currently an Assistant Women's Coach at Kansas State University.

Sammy has an extensive collegiate coaching background.  Before his time at K-State he spent 2 seasons at the University of Michigan as an assistant coach in the women's program.  While at Michigan, he coached 3 players to All-Big Ten selections, 16 players to Academic All-Big Ten selections, 4 players to College Sports Communication Academic All-District awards, 8 players to Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Athlete Awards, and 2 players to the University of Michigan Sportsmanship Awards.

Prior to his time at Michigan, Sammy was the Head Coach of Western Michigan's women's soccer program for 3 years.  He coached 1 player to a record 28 career goals, 3 players to MAC 1st Team selections, 5 players to MAC 2nd Team selections, 2 players to the MAC All-Freshman Team, 4 players to the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Team, 13 players to the Academic All-MAC team (most since 2017), 2 goalkeepers to the highest save percentage in MAC conference, 22 players to the Academic All-MAC Team, 5 players to MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete awards, and 1 player to a 1st Team CoSIDA Academic All-District Award.

Before his experience at Western Michigan, Coach Sammy spent the 2018 season at Boston College as an Assistant Coach and was elevated to Interim Head Coach for the latter part of the campaign.  He helped the Eagles to a 4th place finish in the ACC and the program's first trip to the league tournament since 2015 while coaching the 2018 ACC Midfielder of the Year, Samantha Coffey. 

After a successful playing career at Marshall University, Coach Sammy returned to coach his alma mater for a season before joining the University of New Hampshire women's soccer staff as an Assistant Coach from 2015-18.  During his time at UNH, he helped the team to a regular season title in 2017, was part of the America East Coaching Staff of the Year and coached the conference's 2015-16 Striker of the Year, Brooke Murphy.

Coach Sammy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, both from Marshall University.  He retired as a player ranking 3rd in the all-time assists record at Marshall.
